In order to use this web site, you must first create an account profile that includes some personally identifiable information (PII). This information, in addition to personalizing the content on the site, allows us to contact you about the site services in which you have expressed interest. Before creating an account, there are a few things you should know about what information is collected and how it is used, disclosed, and protected.

What is the purpose of this policy?

Passed in 1998, The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") requires all web site operators whose audience includes children under of the age of 13 to post a notice informing parents and legal guardians about how they collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under 13 years of age. Additionally, verifiable consent must be obtained from parents or guardians in order for children under 13 years of age to use the GoTrybe.com web site. The following policy details how GoTrybe complies with COPPA. (Note that when we the word "parent" is used below, GoTrybe includes legal guardians in that definition).

What type of information is collected?

As part of the account creation process, you must provide a username, email address, password, secret question & answer (used to recover your password), first name, last name, gender, and birth date. If you are under 13 years of age, you will also be required to provide the name and email address of a parent or guardian. A child�s participation or access to an activity cannot be conditioned on his or her providing more Personal Information than is reasonably necessary for that activity.

Subscription payments also require the collection of credit card information (cardholder name, address, card type, account number, expiration date, and cid), which is delivered over a secure date connection with Authorize.net, our secure payment gateway provider. You may also be required to provide additional information, such as a delivery address, in order to receive prizes won as a result of activity on the site.

How is this information used?

Your account information is used to personalize your experience on the site, award points, track progress, deliver age and gender appropriate daily content. It also provides us a method of contacting you about changes to the site, its content, or the policies that govern your account.

In the case of subscription payments, your data is processed through Authorize.net, our secure payments gateway provider. This information is encrypted throughout the entire payment processing cycle and is not permanently stored on our servers.

Some memberships include access to our "Message A Friend" application that allows users to send text or email message to friends. If you choose to use this feature, we will automatically send your friend a one-time email or text message inviting them to visit the site. The contact information provided is not permanently stored or associated with a members account.

In addition, some memberships include access to our "Chat" application. If you choose to use this feature, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these venues, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these venues. All messages are logged.

How do I cancel my membership or refuse contact with myself or my child?

Your membership may be canceled at any time by contacting our customer service department at support@gotrybe.com (address and phone options listed below). You may also edit your account profile at any time, using the login info provided in your account creation or parental approval email. Once logged in, you may remove the contact information provided when the account was created or update that account information as you see fit.

For members under the age of 13, a parental approval email will be sent before the account is activated, providing the opportunity to review our privacy policy and accept or decline the account creation.

How can I review, edit, or delete the personal information the site has collected?

GoTrybe members, as well as parents and guardians, can review, edit, or delete their account information by logging into the site using the info provided in your account creation or parental approval email. Once logged in, your account information is accessible at any time by clicking the "Edit Profile" link at the top of each page. All of the account information is editable, with the exception of the username that was selected during the account creation. How does GoTrybe.com communicate with me?

When your account is created, you will receive an email including your username and password, with links to the GoTrybe.com web site. From time to time, we may also contact you about changes to the site, its content, or the policies that govern your account.

Do you share my information with other service providers, partners, or agents?

In some cases, we may use third party vendors to provide some or online services (ex. credit card processing). When you sign up for a service or feature that requires this type of partnership, you will be notified about what information is being shared. In every case, we will only share information that is necessary for the third party to provide that service. These third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for any other purpose.

If you use a bulletin board, blog, or chat room on this Web site, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. How does the site use cookies?

A cookie, is a small text file that is stored on a user's computer for record-keeping purposes. The GoTrybe.com web site uses a temporary session cookie to maintain an awareness of the current page, active menu items, and user activity. The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

In addition, we follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. Although no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information.

GoTrybe will take reasonable and prudent steps to ensure that parents are notified of material changes to our Privacy Policy, in conformance with applicable law, including applicable provisions of COPPA. Parents of our members will be notified when significant changes are made concerning how GoTrybe collects and utilizes personal information via an email sent to the parent's email address specified in the GoTrybe user account and placing a prominent notice on our web site.
